Do you believe in luck?...................
Does the cosmos deal the great deck of our fortune and lets the cards fall where they may? Or is it that some folks are predestined to be fortunate and the sun shines on them?

Or is it something in between?

I used to be firmly in the former category, but after the shitty past 6 months I've had I'm starting to lean towards the latter.

I hope I'm not getting too deep here.

1. Something in between I suppose.
In some ways I've been blessed- I'm a fairly attractive, intelligent, and compassionate person and I'm blessed to have very smart, healthy children, so on the surface all is fine.
However, my parents dislike me and there's no other family around, good friends don't stick around long, career stuff is in a shitter, and my relationships with men- past, present, or otherwise unsure has been a disaster. Most men I've been involved with also seem to think I'm impervious to pain when nothing could be further from the truth.
I think I had everything I needed to have a good life at one point in time and I managed to waste it and blow it I think. I try to do the right thing and be a good person, so maybe happiness just wasn't meant for me.

3. Sometimes You're In The Right Place At The Right Time
And sometimes you make your own luck.

But things tend to average out in the long run.

4. Sure
If it wasn't for bad luck, I wouldn't have no luck at all.

6. Actually, I read a few years ago, in a study by a physiological
...group (sorry, don't remember which one), that on the average, we "make" our own luck but INDIVIDUALLY, they're truly folks that are blessed with uncanny good luck and other folks that have truly shitty luck and have had it since childhood.

It makes sense though, I mean, with the large amount of people in the world, some would have bad luck their entire lives as some would have the opposite. I've had great luck at life my whole existence so I consider myself very fortunate. :)
