Ten Weeks and back to #2: Hillary is still selling em like hotcakes
http://www.nytimes.com/2003/08/31/books/bestseller/0831besthardnonfiction.html

Back to number #2 after a slip to number #5, Hillary Clinton has proved she's worth the $8million dollars advance she received for writing her book.

Lil Miss Annie is standing still at #4. Ironically she actually was ahead of Hillary for one week after her book started slipping in the ratings. I'm assuming that somewhere out there is another fundie who has a bulkload of her books sitting in a warehouse.

And Michael Moore seems to be moving UP the list - he's at #21 with his "Stupid White Men" which from what I've calculated was published sometime about 82 years ago. This book just sells and sells and sells.

But as a reminder, Annie's got something that Hillary and Michael never got: a (+). For those who have no clue what the (+) next to Annie's name means here's a reminder:

Rankings reflect sales, for the week ending August 16, at almost 4,000 bookstores plus wholesalers serving 50,000 other retailers (gift shops, department stores, newsstands, supermarkets), statistically weighted to represent all such outlets nationwide. An asterisk (*) indicates that a book's sales are barely distinguishable from those of the book above. A dagger (+) indicates that some bookstores report receiving bulk orders

1. Both Clinton and Moore's books have been #1 and #2 in Germany
Seesawing back and forth for the top spot...

Europeans are always eager to talk about "Bowling for Columbine," a very popular movie here. Clinton's book is bookstore windows all over Europe.

5. I suppose she could one day try her hand at fiction
But for now she'll leave it to that great writer of fiction Annie Coulter. Slander? Treason? Her books name themselves since most of the content in these books pretty much are both!

8. It's taking me a while to read
I was given it at the beginning of the summer and read it for a few days on the beach then had to put it down for most of the summer. Went back to the beach for a few days where I continued to read it, but now I'm home and don't have time to finish it yet.
I agree, the names are a bit hard to keep straight, but it is quite a fasinating look at her life, how the government works, how crazy right wing nuts are and how much damage they are doing to our country and democracy.

(hint, hint, lurker) :kick:
