Sex Scenes on British TV Increasing

LONDON (Reuters) - Sex scenes and nudity on British television increased last year, reflecting more relaxed public attitudes, researchers said on Tuesday.

Programs such as "G-String Divas" and "Real Sex" on the Five channel helped double the number of scenes depicting sexual intercourse in 2002.

"Attitudes toward sex and sexual activity have changed over the years," said Paul Bolt, director of the Broadcasting Standards Commission (BSC), a government-funded watchdog.

"People are now more comfortable with programming that contains sexual material as long as they are made aware of the material to be broadcast."

The research was carried out by the BSC, the British Broadcasting Corporation and the Independent Television Commission, which regulates commercial TV.

In Germany they have, or had, haven't been there in over ten years, a game show where the contestants were required to strip as a sort of penalty. 'Course with the guys, it was no big deal getting bare chested, but the ladies had to strip down to their unmentionables!

It was one of those games in High School : "who dares staying up long enough to watch it?". It sucked.

Bare chested is OK, even during daytime (with some constraints, so don't get the wrong impression).

I miss Germany, and that's NOT the reason, so stop saying that! ;-)

And I would have been very disappointed if you had said that TV-nudity is the best about Germany... (without mentioning the beer :P)

and American TV teases but is too inhibited to really show the stuff alot of adults would like to see.

The CBC's notorious for showing full-frontal nudity, even in the 60's.

We've also got Taxicab Confessionals , Queer as Folk and lots of other shows on non-pay-per-view networks.
