Name the best concert you missed
I was in the Navy years ago, and 2 of my favorite groups were touring the Los Angeles area the month I was out to sea. The concert was:

INXS, opened by Steel Pulse

I'm not a big venue fan, but I'd have gone to that one.

5. Nirvana- Graffiti- Pittsburgh, PA- Sept. 1991
They came to town about a week after Nevermind was released, so they were still a well-kept secret. My friends went and said it was an awesome show. Oh, and Krist Novoselic got a visit from the Fire Marshal after he set a couch on fire backstage. Sadly, they never came back to Pittsburgh :(

7. Two in the same year.
1968, my sixteenth year. Hendrix played the Blues Image in Miami and mother forbade me to go. The Doors played Miami and the infamous "drop trou" incident occured. Same deal with Ma. I often wish I were more defiant back then.

8. U2
At Red Rocks in Colorado.
It became the "Under a Blood Red Sky" album and video.

I was standing in line buying tickets to see The Pat Metheny Group at the same venue and all these kids were clamoring for U2 tickets.

I had never heard of U2 before and I was wondering what all the excitement was about.

Well I know now what all the excitement was about.
But, that's OK.

The Pat Metheny concert was one of the best shows I've seen bar none.

That was like '82 if I'm not mistaken.

And I'm in that Woodstock group as well.

I was 15 and I lived about 40 miles from Bear Lake.
My parents would not let me go.

9. Weather Report
with Jaco. My mother got really pissed since it was on her birthday so I had to skip the concert or live with those consequences. He was dead before I had another chance.

10. if i missed the concert, how do i know how good it was?
that being said, the concert I was most pissed about missing was the B-52's at the Aragon in Chicago on the "Cosmic Thing" tour.

BTW- several years back, I saw INXS at the Aragon, opened by Catherine Wheel and it was a pretty decent show.

13. Watkins Glen, NY.....................I was there but...............
definitely missed the concert, if you get my drift. I was there in body only and it probably didn't matter much because we were on the backside of a small hill and the music seemed to go right over our heads.

18. Led Zeppelin in 1981
It was their last concert tour and my brother got tickets to see them out in Cleveland. We had just lost our father and he thought it would be a nice thing to do as brother & sister to see LZ in concert (he was attending college in Ohio). Unfortunately John Bonham died and the tour never happened

I also regret never seeing Queen in concert. I was old enough to go see concerts on my own and they were on tour, making a stop in Hershey. But I opted to not see them in concert because I was very disappointed with some of their recent albums (I'm a fan of their older music.)

I had no idea Freddie's time on earth was limited because of AIDS. He kept that very private, almost up until his death. Had I known he was dying I would have went to the concert even if he sang every crappy song I didn't like
