Going to my first speech this campaign year (Dayton, OH) any suggestions?
I'm driving to Dayton from Columbus to see Kerry and Edwards today, it starts at 2:30PM. Does anyone have any tips I should know of or offer how early I should plan being there to have a good spot?
This is my first this year also; so I can't offer specific advice--only what I'm doing today. My Dad and I are taking the Rapid into Cleveland around 7:00; then we're going to have breakfast nearby so we can see when the crowd starts to form. The rest of the people I'm going in with aren't arriving until 8:30am. (We have priority seating tickets--I'm not sure if that makes a difference arrival-time-wise.)
A reminder for Ohioans planning to go to the rallies today: the times have changed! The gates are opening at 9am for Cleveland and 1pm for Dayton.
I am working in Springfield this morning, so hopefully getting there by 12:00 will allow me to get a good enough spot. I wonder if they will sell t-shirts there??
Kerry's website says that "rain or shine" the rally is going to happen today on time--there's no mention of an alternate indoors location. I'm not sure what will happen if severe storms hit.
