My pizza delivery job is going pretty well.
Just so if anyone is interested:

I really don't have to pay for any bad deliveries, that was a computer error on my 2nd day. I get to drive around a lot, get a lot of fresh air, I get commissions for every delivery, and I make an average of 25-30 dollars in tips per night. Even though I only make minimum wage, I'm making the equivalent of 10 bucks an hour (with tips and commissions), which is what I was making in my previous job.

And the great thing is that I have two jobs without working at them at the same time. I take a long leave of abscence in four weeks, then I'm going back up to Fargo to work my other job as a college football equipment assistant and start school again. And I get to leave Minneapolis. Sorry Twin Cities DUers, but I REALLY hate this city. I have my reasons.

1. What about car insurance?
Have you checked with your insurance company to see if you're covered on the job? Most personal policies don't cover you. My son found out the hard way on this and lost his license over an accident he couldn't pay for. Insurance wouldn't cover it because he was working.

4. Yep. I'm covered for the job.
They don't let you deliver until you're covered on your job.

5. It varies.
Once I got a 5 dollar tip for a pizza that cost less than 3 dollars on a discount card, but then one time I got a $1.58 tip for a $40.42 order, then another time I got no tip at all.

7. We Make a POINT of Tipping Pizza Delivery People!

I always try to tip 25% of the bill. When we were living in an area we'd been in for several years, we knew the pizza guy, Barry, very well. One day, I was short on cash, had *just* the amount of the order... and I gave him an IOU and said "Come back tomorrow after 5:00 and I'll have it for you. He said "Nah, I know you're good for it, You can add it on the next time or just don't worry about it!"

Well, it was a month before we ordered pizza again, but I'd paperclipped the IOU to the phone number card. I double tipped him!

"WOOAAHHH! Dude! You remembered!" He was totally stoked. I just shrugged and said "A promise is a promise."

Turned out he needed the money very much that week.

Man, we NEVER got our 'za cold or late! Giving respect to all persons, whatever their job, is simply the bedrock of good customer relations and excellent service!
