Not only was that down time scary. But that's exactly the way
it will happen when the Brown Shirts pull their non-election.

Damn, we need to make alternative plans to organize against these bastards.

Any suggestions?

Do you have the link. That isn't the first time we have been down. At least it wasn't very long this time.

3. Cold sweats, need air, gasp, gasp. But what if the THEMS
did shut down the web? And then proceeded to steal another election while Faux News told us everything was just dandy. What then?

Suggestions?

it's a freeper website?

Who runs it? Why? If DU went down, why wouldn't they? And why in the world would Yahoo feel the need to set up a DU Panic Room? My suspicion runneth over. And what's left of my brain hurts.

15. All my electricity went down right at that exact moment so when I tried
to log back in I kept getting an error message because I was trying to post right then. I didn't know about the downtime because of the electricity flash. So I e-mailed the admins to see if they could free up my password.

Here's what I was getting:

An error occurred during processing.

I was just totally confused.

16. If you are serious. here's what we need to do
Edited on Sun Jul-11-04 03:14 PM by DBoon
First do these things:

- Write your senators and your representative. Tell them you believe canceling or postponing the election is unacceptable, and that you expect them to take firm and public action against any such plan.

- Elections are conducted by County government. Write your County supervisors to let them know your opinions. Make sure your County has contingency plans to ensure that the election is held on November 2.

- Following up on the above, organize your County supervisors to publicly oppose any cancelation or postponement of elections. This would mean going ahead with elections even if the Federal DHS says otherwise. We have local governments opposing the Patriot Act, we need this right away.

Lastly, WE need to develop some plans for public action in case the worst actually happens. There needs to be major demonstrations. I fantasize about a national work stoppage for one day.

On Edit: Oh, we are talking about DU being down. I thought this thread was about the election being canceled.
