MilwaukeeforDEAN packs 10 tons of food for Hunger Task Force
Last nite in bit over 2 1/2 hours Dean volunteers packed 534 "supplemental food packages." These particular packages are mostly going to people in Milwaukee who are over 60. Hunger in the city that modeled "welfare to work" reforms is still a reality.

Thanks to the DU'ers that showed up.

2. Would you have done it for Lieberman?
or would you only help people if it's helps dean?

3. Wouldn't you agree
that anything that inspires and motivates people to volunteer to help others is a good thing?

4. Actually, it was done _for_ poor, hungry, people

As much as everyone argues over the various candidates' conservative, centrist or liberal tendencies, the fact is when you organize a group of Democrats you have at your disposal a force for good.

The (not unique) example of the Dean campaign should be a model for Democrats organized around other constituencies rather than a point for contention between campaigns.

I believe Bobby Kennedy once said, "WE must do the work of God on Earth." That's a pretty good phrase whether or not it's misattributed.

If Democrats believe in social welfare then doing something about that _in addition_ to voting seems very reasonable. I suspect many DU'ers volunteer for various causes.

On edit: I read your profile and now I understand.

5. I will be working with Meals On Wheels...
next Sat. for the Dean Corps. I'd always wanted to get involved
in community service...the Dean Corps just made it easy by
being so organized.

6. Your remark is insulting and crude.
Helping people who are hungry should not be slammed by your hate for Howard Dean. These are good hearted souls, democratic souls to boot, black, white, brown....all in the spirit of reaching out to another.

Can you just look at the humanity?
