42 Percent Of Americans Pee In The Shower

PISCATAWAY, N.Y. (Wireless Flash) -- Urine trouble now. According to a new survey, at least four out of every 10 Americans pee while taking a shower.

According to a shower survey sponsored by VertiSpa, 42 percent urinate while bathing, certainly pissing off the 58 percent who don't.

That's not the only stat splashed from the shower study. The average shower is 101 degrees Fahrenheit and uses nearly 50 gallons of water.

-- 52 percent of Americans sing in the shower, with "Singin' In The Rain" being the top tune.

-- 53 percent of people shower in the morning, while 29 percent wait until evening.

-- Finally, the scariest stat of all: 7 percent of Americans claim they never bathe at all.

Incidentally, I never take a bath to get clean, that is what showers are for. A bath, I use to soak and relax muscles, and to shave legs. Underwater leg-shaving gives best results without nicks and cuts, in my experience.
The idea that 7 percent of Americans never bathe at all is REALLY GROSS!!
But if 7 percent own up to that...the figure is probably closer to 10 to 12 percent...sick!!

I, too, fall into that 29 percent.
I would rather shower at night. Firstly, I'm more accustomed to a second shift schedule, anyway. Secondly, if I shower at night...then, if I oversleep the next morning, I can hurry up, get dressed, and make it to work...AND I have gotten a shower!
If you wait till morning to shower...and you oversleep...well, in order to make it to work on time, you might have to skip your shower. And that's gross.
Besides, I live in an apartment...and everyone else showers in the morning, which means there's no hot water pressure left for me. But if I shower at night...I get good hot water.
And, no, in response to the couple of personal messages I got...I don't REALLY fart in the tub...that was just me trying to be funny.
And NO, I do not pee in the shower, either. That's gross.
And, if you get one of the devices you can attach to your shower head, that turns on the water only when you need it...to get wet in the first place, and to rinse off...you can use considerably less than 50 gallons of water for a shower.
Plus, the mirror doesn't steam up that way. That way you can get out, dry off, and do your makeup. Or shave, if you are a guy. No waiting for the mirror to unsteam. (Assuming you shower in the morning, rather than the evening.)
And, by the way, this is another reason I got into the habit of showering in the evening. No steamed mirror.
Also, living in Texas, as I do...when I get home from work, I want to jump in the shower and get the day's accumulation of dirt and sweat off me RIGHT NOW...not wait till morning!

Someone saw him peeing in the shower at the gym, didn't know his name and referred to him as "the urinator."

I would expect that 99.9% of people pee in the shower. With all that running water I'm amazed 58% hold it in.

or does it magically clean itself? urine is cleaner coming out of your body than all the various crap that grows in the shower, and ON your body! i'll take pissing in the shower as a form of conservation over leaving a pot full of stinky piss brewing.

I use no more than 7-10 gallons of water when I shower. I turn it on to wet myself, then I turn it off. I lather up my whole body. Then I turn the shower back on and rinse off. On top of that, I have one of those low-flow shower heads. :)

I once had friends who lived together for about 2 days. The first time she saw him pee in the sink, it was over.

stuff I really want to know. Also, how many pee on other people while in the shower? How many pee AND sing in the shower? How many sing AND masturbate? There is a whole master's thesis here if someone will just take the bait.

But some people look too refreshed after a too long a shower. I have my suspicions.
