I ASKED A CO-WORKER FOR A DATE

I asked if he'd go to see a movie with me in a couple of weeks (we keep weird schedules) and he said yes. This guy has been making me crazy - he's not classically handsome and is a bit overweight but DAMN he has the sexiest voice and lips and he smells sooooooooooooooooooooo good all night long (we work 12 hour shifts). I think he is absolutely adorable, and funny and smart and sweet. He is so very shy and I've been told he "doesn't date" but that just made me more determined.

His name is Kevin and he's five years younger than me (all my boyfriends have been younger than me). And all you well-meaning folk who advise against fishing off the company pier, no worries: I've dated many co-workers and have always stayed friends. And I know my job will be outsourced next year anyway so I'll be job hunting again.

What's strange is I found out we worked different shifts in that same building ten years ago and when I asked if he remembered me he said OH YEAH, he used to see me during turnovers. I don't remember him but I worked with him recently for weeks before I realized I really liked him. Heck, it took him weeks just to look me in the eyes and that's only because I got in his face. With this guy I know I'll have to take it slow which may be a problem because I just want to maul him.

Tombo and I have been rocky for some time and although I still see him occasionally we are pretty much just friends now. I am ready for something new!!! :D

I think there's a difference

The first one defers responsibility from the asked and the second does the opposite so if I ask someone FOR a date it sort of suggests OF COURSE YOU MAY POSSIBLY HAVE NEITHER TIME NOR AFFECTION TO OFFER ME and effectively BEGS for any LAME excuse the asked party might make, and the second is like asking DO YOU WANT ANYTHING TO DO WITH ME.
