Let's give some of our DU youngsters some recognition

Well ... they are young MEN. But I'm old enough to be their mother and my own son would be 24 this year so I'm allowed to call you guys "youngsters". :D

I am PARTICULARLY impressed with the political involvement and care displayed by some of our youngest DU members who, because of their age, are not yet able to vote but are better informed than most of the electorate in this country. A few I have noticed are:

It's good to know that while many are being taught what to think, there are some young people who still know how to think!

Recently I pm'ed one of the posters you mention to congratulate him for the quality of his thinking. I had assumed he was in his 30's until I discovered he was 16. Their level of maturity astounds me and they deserve recognition.

It's awesome to see young ones getting involved. You all should be proud of yourselves! I love it! This gives me a lot of hope for the future of this country. I have no qualms about the younger generation. They have a lot of soul.

I feel old when I hear about that 12 year old in the Kucinich campaign and when I see rising freshmen here.

I orginize Ohio's DU gathering's doesn't that count for anything and I'm 22 and never went to college.

You could still return to school, part time, as a poli-sci major and bring your homework to DU.:D

I remember the other day Maggie showed an old thread, about the young dems at DU at the time, it was me, maggie, michelle, and Phishwithlemon, and youngred of couruse.

I am a bit embarrassed to be 16. In my experience teenagers are moody and indecisive, often incapable of reason. Thank you for the recognition though.
