18. Oh, this should be interesting...
I'm on a public computer at my university's library.

-----------------------------
April:

These new, un-tinted glasses are a weird thing. They made me a
little sick, at first, but my eyes adjusted pretty quickly, and
it felt strange being able to see a long way off without having
to squint. And there is no blurring. Supposedly, with the new
correction, my eyesight is again the 20/15 it used to be in my
youth. The optometrist said it is a rare thing for vision cor-
rection to work that well for anyone, but that some people (I
among them) are just lucky. He's an odd man, and talks a bit
more like a door-to-door salesman than an optometrist.

Because there's no tint, the lenses do not seem like they are
there, and I am constantly touching them both to make sure
neither has fallen out. This is stupid. I would notice if one
of the lenses fell out pretty immediately, if for no other rea-
son than that my vision would blur.

I am in the talking mood. I'm not really in the writing mood.
I wrote some, earlier today, and did not like what I had writ-
ten. What's sad is that the stuff I write that I end up dis-
liking reads more or less like what I write when I feel I am
"on."

I told you about a sentence I had written in my journal that I
liked but did not remember composing, but did not cite it.
Here's that sentence (in quotation marks because I want to make
it seem as though I do not lay full claim to it. Maybe I was
just really sleepy):

"I stumble into Goodness as I round my every corner; I stare at
it and it at me, as though we each expect something from the
other, or expect the other to be as we perceive the other to be."

When I take it out of its journal context and bring attention to
it, it exposes it as a kind of sucky sentence. It's just more of
my crap. It's a bad sentence. For some reason, though, I liked
it when I read it to myself the first time.

I'm feeling misanthropic this afternoon. I couldn't tell you
why if you asked.

Anyway, I am going to do my best to stay in the apartment this
weekend and get some work done. I will miss Wesley's home-
coming soiree Saturday night, but I may call to say hello to
some of the people I will miss getting a chance to see.

I still owe you that Morrissey CD.

Sincerely,
Beau

Hasufel, could you or anyone give me the chapter# and time regarding the mule being led off Serenity. I want to try that scene at different line resolutions (480p, 760p, 1080p and 1080i). Maybe I can find the answer that way.

Keep flyin'
Rick

Serenity, chapter 5 - The two cutsie things are:
17:50 - Wash drives down the ramp and a shadowy, unknown, person scuttles off to the right in the cargo bay.
17:59 - A hand sneaks out of the lower right corner and grabs a hold of the bumper of the Mule.
