My Kitty Cat isn't feeling well...
Momo is suffering from kidney stones. I am worried about my other kitty too, because when momo was at the vet overnight, he cried at the door, and when the little guy got home, Kitty started growling as if he did not feel well either. Anyway, good vibes and thoughts are welcomed. :-( He is a regular visitor to DU, sitting in my lap and chasing the cursor..

1. I'm sorry to hear your kitty is sick - I have a sick one
also. She's 16 and has a thyroid condition and is nothing but skin and bones. God, I wish I had just a touch of a thyroid condition - not a really serious one, just a touch - say 30 lbs worth. She's on medication but it doesn't seem to be working. You wouldn't believe a cat could be as thin as she is and still be alive; poor thing. Hope both our kitties get better really soon. Good luck.

4. Hypothyroid or hyperthyroid?
My cat's heart was slightly enlarged, and my vet said that he hoped that this was caused by hyperthyroidism, because that was relatively easy to treat. It turned out not to be so. Both of my dogs are hypothyroid, and are on medication, and I am, as well! I am told that this condition causes weight gain! What is it with all the thyroid problems?!

If both of these kitties are still having problems, I would suggest getting a second opinion. You need to get a handle on this. If the medication is not working, the dose may not be right. I just had my Sara retested and I had to slightly increase her dose. I have to get her tested, again, in 45 days, the length of time that the medication takes to kick in. They need to be tested, periodically. I am very fortunate, since it seems that my vet has a lot of experience with treating thyroid problems. So do I, now. Both of my cocker spaniels were hypothyroid, as well.

5. I'm so sorry! I know so well how you are feeling
It is such a helpless feeling when they aren't well. Meneken, Sara and I all send good vibes and thoughts that both kitties get through this and are well very soon. Keep us posted.:-(

p.s. My cat also liked to frequent the computer. She came very near to posting, many times.:-)
