It was so wild, that I wouldn't stay there when I was in Jamaica. If I were wild like that though, that would be my top choice.

You should see the people in the pool....at 2:00 in the afternoon.

If you do decide to go to Jamaica, at least put your clothes on for a few hours and try to see some other things outside the "compound" of your hotel. If you saw the movie "Cool Runnings," the little town in the beginning is Negril...there is a fun dance hall right in that scene!

Jamaicans are so cool; and the American/European owners of places like Hedonism do whatever they can to make you feel unsafe outside their walls.

Seriously, when you book your trip, get a map of Jamaica, and plan on hiring a GOOD driver (ask the manager at the front desk) and take a trip up Lighthouse Rd. When you get asked if you want to take a side trip to 1. Buy pot 2. See Bob Marley's house 3. Get your hair braided....and no I am not kidding....say "NO." Period. Do not go on a "side trip" with anyone anytime. Tell them you have no money. That's how stupid tourists disappear in Jamaica. Trust me, you will get ALL the magic cake and spliff you could ever want inside Hedonism. And don't try to take any home. The people at the airport are trained to look at Americans.

There are some other good restaurants up this road; this is where people like me go to get away from the tacky tourists! Rick's is covered up with tacky tourists...just go to watch the jumpers, and the sunset!

If you pass a small outdoors type cafe on the left hand side of the road about a mile and a half up from Ricks, please stop and tell June that Stephanie said "hi." When you fall in love with Jamaica, across the street from that cafe is a place to rent a cabin on a cliff...outdoor showers, and kitchen. Now, that's heaven!

Rick's is definitely "touristy" but the view is great and the food was the best of any of my trips to Negril.

Never been to Hedonism but we may give it a try on our next trip.

I just wouldn't want to go as a single. I think I'd be pretty lousy at picking people up, but debauchery sounds fun. Not so much being excessively liquored up personally, but other forms are nice. :7
