does anyone's cable TV or internet go out during rain?

it's been raining heavily since about 10 am but no lightning, Road Runner has been out since 5 PM and all channels above 40 are fuzzy, Cableco said it would probably come back on after the rain stopped, it's never been out this long but it hasn't rained this much in months, rain isn't supposed to move out until Monday, the big outages have been reported

does DSL go out during heavy rain?

3. Weather should not be a factor.

Your cable company has bad splice or broken cable somewhere that letting water into the cable and shorting out the signal. A little detective work on their part is all that is needed to find and fix it.
When it is dry that same splice/broken cable should be radiating a easy to pick up signal that they have equipment to find.
You are paying a premium for a service you are not receiving. Might be time to complain to the city if the cable company won't do anything about it. Talk to your neighbors about this, the more the merrier.

Heavy rain causes interference.

Sounds like a cable problem or your company...call them up and ask them..

but only during a severe thunderstorm. Lightning struck the dish and the service went kaput, but it came back on after the storm passed.

10. I think it is a cable fault

somewhere. Either a break or something in the cable itself, or corroded connector, etc. We had this problem years ago, with cable going out more and more till finally we got nothing. Cable people said it was one of the above things, so we got satellite. Now when TV goes out, that means it is about to rain which can be a good thing here!

but it hasn't rained this much in months, there is a major drought here, it went out for about an hour during a storm last may, could come back after it has had a chance to dry? its just sprinkling now and its supposed to be the in 80s after monday

should I try drying the splitter outside with a hair dryer?
