Favorite song by Jackie Wilson?

But "Lonely Teardrops" got my vote. He was one of the very best.

I've seen another of the same shot signed with Elvis' dedication to Jackie - must have come from Jackie's personal effects.

They had a mutual admiration society since the '50s - when Jackie was in hospital before he died, Elvis paid his hospital bills (it's terrible how Jackie Wilson ended up destitute, ripped-off by his 'handlers').

the only one that was actually shot from the waist up, Elvis threw some Jackie Wilson vocal mannerisms (that he discussed during the Million Dollar Quartet session a month earlier) into "Don't Be Cruel." This is the version that's most often shown on TV these days and it's a real killer.

Also, 1962's "Return To Sender" was sung somewhat in a Wilsonesque way and Elvis paid tribute to Jackie in his stage moves during the film scene that the song was tied to.

They were both incredible performaers and vocalists, and both had similarities in the vast RANGE of their abilities, both vocally and in terms of the kind of material that they covered (everything from blues and pop to country and pseudo-Neapolitan opera). And then there's that whole stage-presence thing, and charisma....
