Something I wish still was around...
"Spittin' Image."

A British satire show, that used these ugly rubber puppets to skewer the rich, the famous and the politicians.

And they were savage, to say the least.

I saw a couple episodes of the show, the Genesis video "Land Of Confusion," their version of "Peter And The Wolf," and a "60 Minutes" segment on them.

Can you imagine what they'd be doing to Smirk and his Poodle right now?

1. Good Show
Spitting Image was an excellent show. It did fade towards the end but is fondly remembered in these quarters. 2dTv is probably the closest alternative on British TV these days. As the name suggests, it's all 2d animations but it parodies Bush and Blair as well as Spitting Image would have IMO.

For pure satire, "Bremner, Bird and Fortune" is the best port of call.

2. Yes, I remember that show!
The satire was excellent, but the puppets were so ugly! Prince Charles, with big ears, sticks in my mind. They would have a field day with Bush* and Blair! Bush*, at least, is even more unfortunate looking, in real life, than any of those puppets were.:7

3. Can you imagine what the puppets would look like LOL
God I wish they would bring them back just to make Jr, Cheney, Pickles, Blair, OBL, Binladen and all of the pundits.

Hey, we need to do a massive email campaign to get that show back on.

6. The Smirk puppet?

Would probably have a Alexander the Great helmet on, (worn backwards no doubt,) and a "vacancy" sign on his forehead. :-)
