Pixies announce New York dates - Hammerstein Ballroom - Dec 12/13

PIXIES have announced details of their first NEW YORK gigs in 12 years.

The band, who are strongly rumoured to be releasing a new studio album next year, will play at the city�s Hammerstein Ballroom on December 12 and 13 as part of their huge North American tour.

The gigs will be the band�s first since their performance at The Ritz on November 23, 1991.

Tickets will be priced at $42.00 and will go on sale this Friday, August 13 at 12 Noon at all Ticketmaster outlets. On both nights, doors will open at 6:30pm, and the Pixieswill take the stage at 9:15pm.

Pixies at the Mother Church. Gonna be crazy.

And Will Sargent is the most underrated guitar player, ever. I loved his work on that album.

Ocean Rain. God, I love that album. I've liked most of the ones you've used but that one just completely takes me to another place.

3. Hammerstein is a GREAT hall

Excellent acoustics and not very large at all.
Holds maybe 2500 total.
