Pixies announce New York dates - Hammerstein Ballroom - Dec 12/13

PIXIES have announced details of their first NEW YORK gigs in 12 years.

The band, who are strongly rumoured to be releasing a new studio album next year, will play at the city’s Hammerstein Ballroom on December 12 and 13 as part of their huge North American tour.

The gigs will be the band’s first since their performance at The Ritz on November 23, 1991.

Tickets will be priced at $42.00 and will go on sale this Friday, August 13 at 12 Noon at all Ticketmaster outlets. On both nights, doors will open at 6:30pm, and the Pixieswill take the stage at 9:15pm.

Pixies at the Mother Church. Gonna be crazy.

And Will Sargent is the most underrated guitar player, ever. I loved his work on that album.

Ocean Rain. God, I love that album. I've liked most of the ones you've used but that one just completely takes me to another place.

3. Hammerstein is a GREAT hall
Excellent acoustics and not very large at all.
Holds maybe 2500 total.
