So is anyone coming to Happy Hour in NYC on August 28th?

seriously, if no one is coming then I'm not going to bother organizing anything. I was hoping to meetup with NYC DUers (and those visiting NYC) for a Saturday night party on the 28th sometime after the Planned Parenthood March. This, my friends, is the weekend before the pukes come to town

on the 28th: Planned Parenthood is having a march across the Brooklyn Bridge

On the 29th: United for Peace & Justice & Internal Answer are having a major protest against the republican convention. Both of these protests are on the weekend before the convention.

I'm trying to organize so the DU folks can meetup and march together - it's a thankless job!

...it was my pre-coffee morning attempt at being funny. Do forgive.

..can you 2 find a bar where they have enough space for us to hang out and have a party. I don't want to rent a room, but I'm hoping for some dive bar with a good beer selection and room for us to mingle without interfereing with a dinner crowd or something.

I'll be in Vegas for a bachelor party and then on to Colorado to be with my sister after she gives birth...

I'll miss seeing all you DU'ers and the protests, but then again, I won't have to deal with all the disgusting Republicans staining my hometown and whoring out 9/11...

I was thinking everyone should come in their jammies to the party.

We could meet somewhere else for drinks to get started and then go to Marie's Crisis afterward. How does that sound? Are we doing dinner, too?

The Planned Parenthood march ends at 4pm. I figured folks will want to get showed and cleaned up afterwards before meeting up for an evening of drinks.

Dinner is too much for me to plan since you never know how many folks will show up and there tends to be a few folks who never anti up as much as they should for the meal.

If we do any kind of dinner after the march, we could hit a cheap pizza joint somewhere. But I know after a hot & sticky afternoon of marching, I'm going to want to go back to my hotel room and showerup before the nights activity. We have a suite but I have no clue how big the suite is and only 2 of us staying at the suite are DU members (sus is the other one, but the other 2 will be at all of the activities).
