Residence Life will feel my wrath soon
Ok here's my situation...

I am supposed to be housed in the new town houses on campus this year (woo hoo) however they won't be finished until the end of September. Because of that, the university has to house us in temporary housing until we get our town house. Temporary housing consists of a hotel 20 miles away or being put into another apartment on campus as a 6th resident. I chose the latter option, because my major requires me to spend just about all of my free time with the soccer team and I'm not up to a 20 mile commute after a 12 hour day. Up until this point I have no problem with residence life.

Now this is where I get annoyed. My major also requires that I be present for pre-season camp for my team. Usually someone would just give your social security # to res life and they would allow you to get into your housing early.

But not in my case, since I am only a temporary resident, they won't let me get into the apartment until Aug 31st (a full two weeks after pre-season begins) I ask them since nobody else will be there until the 31st, I won't be inconveniencing any of the other residents and I don't see what the big deal is. They however won't budge on the issue, and say that they are not legally required to house me until the 31st. I would call my professor (my biggest ally in this case) but he is on vacation! Grrrrr.

Res Life's suggestion was for me to bunk up with a friend who will be on campus early but since I will be a guest I can't get a key to their apartment, and I don't see how that will ever work out because we all have different pre-season schedules. The other suggestion was to bunk up with someone off campus, however I hate asking my friends to do this because I would feel like a sponge living on someone's couch. I've already called two friend's and neither were able to accommodate me

GAWD I hate Res life!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!:nuke:
