Just had a Supercell thunderstorm roll through
with 60 mile per hour winds, rain in buckets flying sideways, and hail up to the size of quarters.

I love the rain, but the rest I can do without.

Any weather news in your neighborhood?

3. The eastern part on New Mexico
not too far from the panhandle of Texas. There are some whopper storms that rumble through this neighborhood this time of year! I always hope the tornadoes touch down in the middle of nowhere, but inevitably one or two does some damage to one of the small panhandle towns.

2. Wow. That stuff can be fun to watch
As long as you're not in danger. Then it's not so fun.

5. I imagine it is heading our way.
We are supposed to get storms tomorrow. My son is here for a week from California and he is very much hoping for a storm. He lives in Berkeley, where it just mists (doesn't rain really) and you always have to have a sweater at night (and a lot during the day) year round. He is enjoying being good and hot outside for awhile and wants to see some real weather. So, in those famous words - bring it on (unless it's destructive).

6. Monsoon season is great!
As long as you don't get the destructive aspects of it.

Good luck, and I hope all have a good time!

9. Washed the Family Flivver Day B4 Yesterday and.....

We came out of the carwash, drove home and put the car cover on her. Since the Flivver is freshly painted (three months ago) and simply gorgeous, we are understandably careful with her.

It was dry as a bone all day. Yesterday dawned hot and clear. We left the cover on Flivver so she wouldn't get dusty or birdpooped on (remember that photo we put hp here?). Clear, dry... Gorgeous day.

Then we drove over to pick up birdseed, catfood and some groceries. We gently parked Fliv in the sunshine and went into the store without covering her.

Yep. Thunder, lightning, R-A-I-N!

Arrrggghhh!

We drove our Spotted Wonder home and wiped her down with the chamois. Bumper to bumper, we cleaned and polished her. Re-covered her.

Today? sunny and bright! The missus drove her to work and parked in the lot. Did she cover the car? No!

Yep. Again. She called to tell me the car was out in the rain with no cover. *sigh* Who needs rain dances when you have a hydrophilic automobile?!

Poor Fliv! She can't win for losing.
