23. I disagree
It has become common practice to sell good young wines in five-liter Bag-in-Box packages.

Well, then perhaps the freeps can drink some 20/20.

32. yes
Of course those wines aren't great, but offer great value for their price. The bag-in-box has the major advantage that no air gets to the wine - unlike a canister.
However one doesn't find them in retail outside of France; in my neck of the woods wine stores fill them up directly from a cask.

35. FWIW
...Hardy's is putting their wholly satisfactory $9/bottle chard into bags-in-boxes. Having done the "let's try all the Aussie chards under $10" taste-test, theirs was my fave. Haven't tried it out of the box yet, but I'm sure it's just fine.

Lord help us all if I put a box in my fridge. A little too much wine access. :D

Why in the world would anyone in the USA drink wine from France when Sonoma County California produces the finest wines in the world. I just spent my usual 5 days there restocking. NONE FINER ANYWHERE!

Apparently TaMoDee hasn't heard about how we vote, up here in Northern California.

There's one yahoo on there who refuses to buy CA wines, but the rest seem fairly resigned to the fact that every climate that has decent enough weather to produce wine also has a populace intelligent enough not to support their pigheaded, reactionary agenda. Sorry kids!

19. That wine they learned to make from "Animal"
whilst they were guests of the state all those years back.

Steal a box of raisins and two packs of sugar from the mess hall every day for the next six months. When you have enough, use your spoon to cut them in half.

Now steal a plastic bag from the cleaning closet and line your toilet with it. Add some water, the grapes and the sugar, stir and leave set for a few days. Use your next door cellmate's toilet during the fermentation cycle. (He gets half.)

Now that they're out of the joint, they don't have to wait six months to get a buzz on.

Whiskey Tango Foxtrot.

Roughly on par with the comments about the wines. Reading some of it makes me wonder: how many of those posters would describe themselves as "compassionate Christians"?

29. I heard this same crap from some of my relatives this past weekend and
the comment,'we can continue to drink yellowtail and the Italian wines'. This comment came after the 'wonder what the French think of Chirac now' and general agreement to still hate the French.

Some of my family members must be posting at Freak Republic.

The shame, the shame, the shame.
