Would you eat at a restaurant that serves "freedom fries?"
Was all set to order some pizza and wings from a new place up the road until I saw freedom fries on the menu.

My friends tried to get me to stop at a place like that on the way home from hiking a couple weeks ago. Supposedly the shakes are great, but I don't give money to wingnuts.

I'd pretend not to know what freedom fries are, and ask if they're really French fries. Then I'd ask the reason for the name change. Then I'd say, Excuse me but I'm FRENCH.

Anyway, I'm French descended too, but the slur is lost on me simply because the French refer to french fries as simply "fried potatoes" (pommes frittes). Just tell them that it's STUPID!

I drove by a Wendy's in Pueblo once, and their sign said "WE NOW HAVE FREEDOM FRIES". So when I got home, I called them up and asked to speak to the manager. I told him that as long as they were selling "freedom Fries" and not French Fries, I would not be eating there. Apparently a lot of other people spoke up as well, because the sign was changed after a few days.

is a right wing a-hole and just ran his mouth one too many times. I put up with it for a while put one day he started to rant and I decided that that was enough.

Funny thing was they also served French dressing on the salads, baguettes and their city water is owned by a French company.

I will never go back and have made a point of discouraging others from going there.
