Sunspot 649 is simply enormous. You can see it without a telescope, but never stare at the blinding sun.

9. Try a pinhole
Just poke a tiny hole in a piece of carboard with a pin. Then hold it between the sun and a smooth surface. An image of the sun will appear on the surface with sunspots plainly visible.
