The Olympics are here..Do you care??
Seriously since they allowed professional athelets to play in the Olympics, I think the event has lost all meaning. I mean the dream team we cool, but that is not what the olympics is about. It's about the strongest warrior beating his/her other competitiors with grit and hard training , not performance enhancing drugs. The opening ceremony is cool, and I think the lady in charge is a fox, but I won't be watching much of the games. What do you guys think?

7. People who use performance drugs get banned don't they?
Personally I don't care about if the athletes are paid or not. They should be banned for using performance drugs though.

8. Maybe I'm totally F.U.,
but with the horror taking place in our government occupying my attention right now, I just ain't interested. This thing is eerily reminiscent of the 1936 olympics and Hitler being given the Nobel peace prize. Gaaaa!

21. In my own dreary way,
I was trying to be a little funny. If my memory serves, which is a pretty big if, after spending this emotional day tilting at the windmills of political corruption, there was an article about him at that time, or a couple of years earlier. Said article awarded him the prize, symbolically, for his suppression of dissent. also, he was nominated for the Nobel in 1938, I think.

15. Yes I do...this is an international forum, that is supposed to be neutral
Think the German Olympics under Hitler, think the boycotts (My brother couldn't compete in 1980, and has become a Repub since) The Olympics means a lot to Westernized nations, and means something a bit more twisted to their former colonies....it means more to them than it does to the US.

View it as a barometer....

16. Nope. 'Don't care, except...
if it interferes with my news junkie habit by pre-empting the late night news programs.

I've been known to watch some of the Winter Olympic events, but it's not like I couldn't live without it.
