What do you drive/ride as a personal vehicle?
Edited on Fri Aug-13-04 10:39 PM by Wheelie_Alex
I ride my bike to work everyday even in the winter. The only time I ever drive my H2 to work is when it rains like it did this morning. I have gone a month before riding just my motorcycle without ever getting into my truck.

I'd like to see some pics.

If so, for shame.

8. Just wondering
what kind of women you attract with an H2? Can't possibly intelligent, self-confident, sexy liberal ones.

14. Outside of just getting
my physical needs met, I really can not handle a relationship right now. I have two businesses that need constant attention, I am caring for an injured daughter and have to keep tabs on my elderly parents.
Speaking of fairness, it really would not be fair to waste a woman's time with an attempt at a relationship right now.

Hell, the last woman to spend night was my ex-wife when she came to see my daughter last week. Sex with the ex (whom I truly hate), how pathetic is that?

7. i own a <gasp> SUV
Edited on Fri Aug-13-04 10:49 PM by AZDemDist6
that can haul a lot. I did get a 6 cyclinder for fuel ecomony (20 MPG).

Right now it has 2 cases of 16 ounce hot coffee cups, a case of lids for same, 15 pounds of coffee beans, 2 cases of 1.5 liter bottles of flavor syrup, 3 dozen towels, 4 boxes of straws and a case of Slim Fast (Vanilla) in the back ready to haul to the store for Monday

It also has two Kerry stickers on the back and a DU sticker on the right rear passenger door window.

So don't hate me m'kay?

On weekends we use the Vette because it gets 30 MPG

9. Meh
Welcome to DU, where the SUV is the poster child for all that's evil in the world.

Basically, it's like any motorized vehicle; if you drive it responsibly, walk, take the bus, ride a bike from time to time, more power to ya. I'd rather you own a Hummer and get on your bike occasionally, then drive yourself everywhere in your Civic everyday.

I've driven an SUV for years, and it's only been in the last year or so that I've started receiving hostility from self-rightous drivers of the Honda Pious, etc.

Here's mine: 1992 Toyota 4Runner.

(I don't usually park it like this!)

tricked out 2002 Hyundai Accent 18' wheels, chrome kit, rear wing, window tint, blah, blah, blah...

Second vehicle is 89 S-10 Blazer 4X4. My Dad gave it to me when he bought his new Jeep. It's got a plow and is a real workhorse. Looks like a piece of shit, rusted out, paint is all chipped and peeling, runs on 5 of the 6 cylinders, tailgate is bungiecorded shut, but I can't part with it. He bought it new, and it's just a part of the family... I only use it for hauling garden or construction stuff, plowing snow, or if the roads are real bad in winter.

31. Honda CR-V
Edited on Sat Aug-14-04 05:47 AM by NewHampshireDem
Because it gets me a solid 25 mpg, has all-wheel drive (vital here when the snow flies), and is roomy enough for the child seat, stroller, diaperbag, etc. that are the constant accompaniments to parenthood. You can bet that once Honda makes a hybrid CR-V I'll be the first in line. :)

Interestingly enough, my much, much smaller Subaru Impreza gets me 28 mpg at best, so I don't feel too guilty about driving the Honda.

<on edit>
I don't think any of the current hybrids are either safe or roomy enough to accomodate my family. :(

40. Ford Escape Hybrid
Coming out this fall or spring 2005, depending on the dealers in your area. It's about the same size as a Honda CRV, so it should have about the same hauling capacity. (I understand about the baby stuff, since I have a young one myself)

32. Right now, an
1989 Ford Escort. You don't need to see pics. It's as bad as it sounds. lol. Actually it's a good car. A 'little old lady' drove it. Seriously. I bought it used with only 20,000 miles on it in 1995. My Honda Accord died in an accident and I didn't want to make payments on a new car.

Now my DREAM car is my old 1973 VW SuperBeetle. Why I ever sold that car -- I want it back so badly. I lived in the snow. That car, with snow tires, went ANYWHERE a 4 wheel drive could go. In summer, I'd hit the back roads no problem. Someday, I'm gonna be driving a 73'
Beetle again.

If I have to get a new car, hybrid is the only way I'll go.

You know what's good about driving an old car? It tells you a lot about other people. It's great for weeding out people who are into materialistic lifestyles. If they put down my car, they aren't the kind of people I want to know. :) :)

49. I drive an old Toyota pickup
I'll be honest here. I could afford an expensive luxury car. A Lexus wouldn't be out of my reach, nor would it cramp my budget. But I drive a 10 year old Toyota truck because it's a sensible thing to do. I don't consider myself a big environmentalist, any more than the next guy, but it seems foolhardy to blow money just because you have it.

When I see an H2, I just shake my head and wonder that's happened to people's priorities.
