Today the DesNews published a letter I wrote:
Founders not all Christians I find it trite that Robert Price and others would continue to quote the Declaration of Independence as well as the Founding Fathers to defend their stance on the Ten Commandments. They must realize that many of the Founding Fathers were not Christian. In fact, James Madison also stated, "Religious bondage shackles and debilitates the mind and unfits it for every noble enterprise."
That quote does not speak too kindly to Christian thought, nor does it support the theory that the Founding Fathers wanted a government based exclusively on Christian rules. One must also realize that these same Founding Fathers supported slavery; does their support of slavery make it right?
