Bush thinks that he is Lord of this World.
Lord of this World

You're searching for your mind don't know where to start
can't find the key to fit the lock on your heart
you think you know but you are never quite sure
your soul is ill but you will not find a cure.

Your world was made for you by someone above
but you choose evil ways instead of love.
You made me master of the world where you exist
the soul I took from you was not even missed.

Lord of this world
Evil Possessor
Lord of this world
He's your confessor now!

You think you're innocent you've nothing to fear
You don't know me, you say, but isn't it clear
You turn to me in all your worldly greed and pride.
But will you turn to me when it's your turn to die

Black Sabbath, Masters of Reality, 1971

1. WOW! That is so right on the money, isn't it?!
Thanks for posting this. Considering the date of this song, it's even more appropriate!:scared:

Also, congrats on your star! Now you can post a poll!:toast:

2. How did that happen?

I didn't know that I got a star. Interesting. Very interesting.

On edit: it seems that many early Black Sabbath songs are right on the money about describing both the world of the early 1970's and the world now. They hit the nail right on the head about Bush so well that it is scary.

4. I do know how that happened, but I'm not supposed to tell, except
to make sure that you noticed. A good friend from DU, who's been reading your posts, decided to sponsor you. He thought that you deserved to be able to conduct polls and use the search function. He just wants to remain anonymous. He sponsored you, and someone else, who he thought was equally deserving, tonight, as part of the DU fund drive. Just enjoy it. That's all he asks.:-)

As for Black Sabbath, thanks for pointing this out. Wow! They are right on the money, then and now. It is scary. They are a group that I never seriously checked out, before, but I will. Thanks!:D

6. If you want Sabbath songs that would describe the Bush thing well...
...there is the above mentioned one. I would also go with "War Pigs", "Iron Man", "Children of the Grave", "Sabbath Bloody Sabbath". There are probably others but those seem the most relevant right now. That I can think of.

7. Thank you so much. I have never checked out Black Sabbath
before in my life, so I guess that it is more than time!:D

And congrats, again, on receiving your star. You deserve it and I hope that you enjoy it!:-)

3. Man, what an awesome song.
Have you heard COC's cover on the "Nativity in Black" tribute CD? They really do the song a great justice. The best is how they segue into "Warning" at the end of the song.

5. No.
I tend to stay away from tribute albums most of the time. Some can be good. Like I think that Stevie Ray Vaughan's tribute album was pretty good but many are hackneyed. I may have to look into that.
