2. beyond the sea is the name of the movie being made
about bobby darin's life, starring kevin spacey. it should be out in 2004. all songs will be with darin's own voice as stated in his will with beyond the sea, darin out-sinatraed sinatra although his version of tim hardin's "if i were a carpenter" makes tears well up whenever i hear it. darin is in the rock and roll hall of fame as both writer and performer. he was a great talent and died well before his time. i am happy others remember him too.

4. Spacey will be a great choice to play Bobby..
I can't wait to see it. I can't believe how misty this thread is making me. As most know. "Kahuna" doesn't get misty easily.

Is the bomb, the whip, the shit, the stuff, the ganj. John Might be some other lounge songs as good -- but there aren't any better.

6. More (Theme from Mondo Cano)
Can't believe this didn't make the list. This was a huge hit, and no one sang it like Bobby Darin.

9. It might have been a huge hit...
...but not by Bobby Darin. Due to space restrictions, my list only included Darin singles that made the national top ten.

BTW, did ya' know thar Darrin wrote "Simple Song of Freedom"? This was a pretty popular anti-war tune in the early 70s, sung by Tim Hardin...check it out.

10. "When the shark bites...."
Definitely "Mack the Knife." Ode to "The Three-Penny Opera." Impossible to listen to that song without snapping my fingers. Too cool a song.
