I swear, that cat hates me...
We are currently hosting my sister and her two cats, while she gets ready to take a short vacation before going back to school. I love cats, but there is a problem. One of her cats HATES me. He's almost a full grown Savana, so he's about 30 pounds. On top of the fact that he could kick my ass, my sister refuses to clip her cats' claws...

This cat will wait around the corner for me, and when I walk by, he'll jump out and attack me. He also *loves* to sit on the spiral staircase we have, so he takes up a full step. When I try to pass him, he attacks me and knockes me down the stairs. *ow*

1. Carry a squirt gun or bottle filled with water
Next time he attacks you, nail the little bastard! He'll learn to respect you after a few times.

He used to fall asleep in the water bowl (when he wasn't HUGE)

11. Try sour apple spray
I think you can get it at the pet store. Most people use it on their dogs to make them behave for obedience classes.

Lemon juice maybe? Something not quite as mild as water, but that will bug kitty a LOT.

But I'm still worried that anything that would annoy him will cause him to kill me. He is 30+ pounds with HUGE claws... and those teeth! :shudder:

in the squirt gun worked for a friend who needed to stop her cat from clawing the furniture (the cat hated the scratching post - much preferred her grandmother's antique chair).

2. Our cat does that to our daughter, who is 5
He's a big cat. He happens to think that she is his best pounce toy, I guess. He knocks her over quite frequently. At night, though, he sleeps on her bed and purrs her to sleep, so I guess he likes her.

Maybe you should rub yourself in catnip. It could make the cat like you a bit more.

9. Do you wear cologne or scented deodorant
or anything like that? Maybe that is having negative effects on him. Or do you argue with your sister in his presence? It sounds so weird what he is doing.
