I was at the Mens Gymnastics final tonight (SPOILER!!!)
Edited on Wed Aug-18-04 06:56 PM by Bleachers7
Hello, so I had tickets for the mens individual all around final tonight. It was an awesome event. I have never been to anything like it. These athletes are the best of the best. I would have broken bones if I tried what they do. Anyway, the American Paul Hamm was the gold medal winner. He fell behind in his third event when he bounced off the mat after his vault attempt and landed on the judges. He needed to be almost perfect to finish and he was. The Korean gymnasts were really good. He was the last person to go in the last event (high bar). He nailed it and got something over a 9.8. That had to be the highest score on the high bar the whole night. But he really nailed it. It was just amazing. He won the competition by .012 points. Here is a picture of the athletes walking away after receiving their medals.

I have tickets for only one more event. I should be back Sunday. :hi:

2. Lucky bahstad!
So where ARE all the spectators? The lack of crowds seems to be pervasive, though I believe the women's floor exercise had good attendance.

4. It depends on the event
This one wasn't sold out but it was well attended. But the problem with this one was the ticket price. I paid $168 for the cheap seats. The ticket was 120€ (euros) plus the 1.22 conversion rate plus the money to the ticket people. People in Greece don't have 200€ and 120€ for tickets here.

The beach volleyball, football and many other inexpensive events have been well attended. Also the swimming is sold out almost completely. I think that the Athletics tickets have also sold well. But between governments scaring the crap out of people with terrorism and ticket prices, some places are empty. It's really a shame. Athens is in top condition right now. The colors and themes of the games are very good. The competition has been outstanding and who can forget the gyros? ;)

6. Funny thing is...
I know better. I cracked up after posting it. I keep mixing up the two here. They call it football and I always catch myself saying soccer. It feels weird to say football. Oh well.
