http://www.toledoblade.com/apps/pbcs.dll/article?AID=/20040821/NEWS17/408210387A rainstorm which left more than two inches of rain caused the cancellation of the National Tractor Pull contest. Apparently, the contestants did not want to risk any rust damage.
The Bush Campaign immediately blamed democratic candidate John Kerry for the cancellation. "If this man had only taken his wounds like a man, instead of weeping like a little boy to congress, if only this man was man enough to take these righteous, accurate, true criticisms (In which we take absolutely no part that you can prove) if only this man had the ear of God like our candidate does, then this key American event would not have been cancelled.
"We call on all Americans to complain to Mr. Kerry for his role in creating these adverse weather conditions and demand that he put a stop to it now."
The Kerry campaign spokesman looked dumbfounded at the accusation and was quoted off the record as saying, "Is someone totally off their meds or is he hearing voices again?"
