Last Thursday night, I was requested to play a few old bluegrass songs at a little club in Manitou Springs, CO called Kinfolks and it's pretty casual. You can even bring your dog in with you to have a beer. The stage is set up directly behind the bar. As I am in the middle of a number, some old hippie with a ponytail is sitting at the bar and his little terrier is sitting under his feet. Someone walks in with a retriever and the dogs jump at each other and get in a fight for a short time. My job was to continue the song over the barking and growling as the owners broke up the little dogfight. How many people have played at a place where a dogfight is going on?? :)

can you buy the dog a drink, too?

Anyway, none of my gigs have been in animal friendly places.

However, I thought they were foxes at the time, until the next morning.

Aaaaaaaaaooooooooooooooooooooooo! I like the part of your story where you explain that "you can bring your dog in with you to have a beer:". Seems to me there would be a whole lot fewer dog fights if you kept their limit to just one.
