Where can I get a used laptop for a good price?
Online?

Store?

Preferably a low or mid-end P3 with 256MB RAM for a reasonable price (under $500). I'll look up the linux compatibility, but if you've shopped from a store or e-tailer and found them to be good, I'd love to know.

1. Have you looked on Ebay?
You may be able to find something there. Just be sure to check the seller's feedback before bidding or buying. That way you'll know that they're selling quality merchandise. You can also try Amazon.com.

3. Dell sells reconditioned laptops on ebay.
You should be able to find one that meets your requirements. I think they even offer a warranty... maybe 90 days.

8. Tiger Direct is not considered reliable
I bought from them once without problems, but I've seen a lot of negative feedback about them online.

6. you probably can get a new one for that price.....
especially come labor day weekend....at compusa or circuit city...best buy is actually highest price most of the time ...so try those other two first....
