The things I'll miss and I won't miss when I move.
Edited on Wed Aug-25-04 01:35 AM by JonathanChance
I've decided to make a list of things that I'll miss when I move away from home.

1. The night sky on a absolutley clear night. With very little light pollution in my area, one can go outside, wait for their eyes to adjust, and just stare into the most beautiful night sky.

2. The garden. I'll miss going outside, picking some fresh tomates, some fresh Basi, and with some Toast, some fresh garlic, extra virgin Olive Oil, and Parmigano Regganio, have the best fucking lunch ever!

3. Extra Virgin Olive Oil. Yeah they have a County Market across Division Street, and a little Co-op a few more blocks away, but I really don't think a college student like me is gonna be able to afford it. Besides, college students have more important things to spend their workstudy paychecks on. Like beer, whiskey, scotch, soda, coffee, soap, deodorent, shaving cream, and other stuff.

4. Parmigaino Reggaino. See number 3.

5. Home cooked meals. I don't thing the DeBot Center dining hall can make a lasagne, steak with nions and mushrooms, or beef roast like Mom can. I won't have the time or money to cook anything like that myself, If I cook, It'll be something like ramen or canned soup.

6. Pan popped popcorn. There's nothing like it. damn better than that microwave stuff. and you get to melt real butter on top of pit. Perfect for a good movie. I could do it in the floor kitchen, but It'll be too much work.

7. Privacy. My room, my inner sanctum will be no more (Dad wants to convert it to a sewing room) I'll have to share my space with someone else.

Things I won't miss..

1. The Freepers. Damn, they are everywhere around here. Fricking right wing loonies dominating everything.

2. The Fundies. Again, everywhere. fundies as far as the eye can see. Farmer fundies who'
ll vote for candidates who will screw them over in favor of large corporate factory operations just becaust 'Democrats and ibruls are for killin' baybies. My preacher said so!"

3. Fucking loud jacked-up pickup trucks. Evry time I see one of those fuckers I wish my car had a rocket launcher mounted on it . I have heard that Stevens Point really enforces noise regs, so that will be a relief.

4. Dialup. I hate it, I hate it, I hate it! So fucking slow!

5. Having to share the internet computer with the rest of the family. Especailly my Father, who is working on a big cemetary project for his church, he's practically on it all day!

1. When I was away at college
One of the things I missed from home was my own private shower. On my floor in the dorm there were about 30 guys and we all had to share 4 showers. And they were all in the same room. You had a shower curtain, but you couldn't walk around outside of the shower naked unless you don't mind people seeing you naked.
