I'd like to use this picture for my avatar, But I'm technologically challenged.

1. Your best bet is to get someone
to crop the photo in Photoshop (at least down to the guy giving the thumbs up), and resize the pic to allow for the maximum amout of pixels. I'm at work, unfortunately :(

edit: That's Max Cleland giving the thums up to the Pants on Fire mobile. One of my fond memories of the Dem Nat convention.
