I'm the subject of a thread on FREEPER.com!
Wow...I'm so honored. Friday I offered a protest poster on my site, for free download. The freepers picked up on it, and have resorted to a critique of my sad life in general. A fun read! LOL!

Freeper Thread about ME!

4. Awwww...Hi Amber!
Sweet kitty...new?

That cartoon is the dumbest thing I've ever seen. Do they think the White House is in Crawford...acres of grass and trees with a dirt road going up to it and a picket fence. Dumb.

7. My Zeldar looks similar and he is 12 too.

But he's a spoiled brat "only child." I'd love to get a new kitten, but I think he'd commit suicide. ;) On second look...they're not really the same color at all and Z is more striped. Here he is reading a magazine.

6. Congratulations!
You've hit the big time! Freepers hate truth, so you get the (kimchi, unofficial) DU Award of Honor.

10. This one says it all
"I am going home tonight to my lovely plain wife, two wonderful kids, and spend an evening fixing up my single, less-than-John-Kerry home. I will eat a comforting dinner, heavy in beef and cheese, have a nice shot of whiskey in a sugared lemon-lime drink, and reflect that I live in a nation that although it has made mistakes, has saved the world twice and is on the way to doing it again, that has produced more physical, personal wealth than any in the history of the world, that uses a greater percentage of the earths resources than any other, just because we can afford to, and is morally superior to every third-world, jerkwater nation where they spend all their time killing each other over who killed their grandfathers or that last dab of food that they could farm themselves in most cases if they would just stop warring and get on about the business of business, and who will hate our guts no matter how much money we give them because inside they know that they haven't produced a scientist or business man in the last thousand years that amounted to Jack Diddly."

And he also writes: "Once again, as Garrison Keillor noted, "Happy people do not need to make art."

***************************

As an "on-the-cusp-of-legitimacy" poet, who grew up in a total McDonald's, Wal-Mart, Heartland culture, this kind of mentality disturbs the shit out of me. This is part of that "magical thinking," pre-fascist narrative that led to the German's concept of "approved art," which would, most likely be Thomas Kinkaid paintings for everyone. Brrrrrrrr.

12. I wonder what the attraction is? . . .
re: This is part of that "magical thinking," pre-fascist narrative that led to the German's concept of "approved art," which would, most likely be Thomas Kinkaid paintings for everyone.

I live in Utah where there is an unhealthy obsession with Thomas Kinkaid paintings. I'm surrounded by rabid repuke Kinkaid collectors. There's a Kinkaid "gallery" in every mall. Sheeple around here define their status based on the number of walls in their house sporting a 'Kinkaid'. It really is mind boggling. Thanks for the commentary. It helped put things in perspective for me.
