5. I know not of these Outkast people
But back in ancient times before Polaroid prints developed themselves one had to remove the picture from the camera and wait for a little while while the chemistry did its work. It was common for people to shake the print while waiting; this was thought to help the project. Actually it just gave them something to do while waiting for the image to develop.

2. You know how you shake a polaroid picture ...
to help the chemicals mix and thus develop faster?

Outkast used that as a metaphor to get girls to shake their butt in the song "Hey-Ya".

Now you know- and knowing is half the battle.

of his mistaken analogy.

10. LOL once upon a time . ..
in the days before digital photography, we had these things called Polaroid cameras.

People used to shake the photos but as a post said above, it turned out you weren't supposed to shake them anyway.

I think that's a fun song though.

12. The point was that they connect
with the pop culture and are not a square like Grandma and all the other Republican fuddyduddies they affectionately poke fun at.

They are like so many people's kids.
