Edited on Thu Sep-02-04 11:27 AM by bif
Just got back from Costco and the crap is already on display. Couldn't they at least waited until Halloween? One more reason I hate the holidays. And at Costco of all places. AAAARRRRRRGGGGG!!!!!! It's September 2nd!

1. Long ago, Christmas displays appeared the day
after Thanksgiving. I agree, the least they could do now is to wait until after Holloween.

11. but that would mean the workers would be putting them up on Thanksgiving
if you've ever worked retail you know why they have to do it this early.

Just accept it and move on.

9. It bothers the hell out of me
I would love to be able to wait until the day after Thanksgiving to go into Christmas mode.

I could get my crew to come in and help reset the store for the holidays on Thanksgiving Day, if I were to set a complimentary buffet line in the break room and play the audio from football games over the PA. If you've been in retail long enough the last thing you want to see come is Christmas--it's the constant replaying of the same thirty songs that does it for you. Jack from millwork hasn't celebrated Christmas in well over a decade--and he's a Christian!

Incidentally, what's the instrumental Christmas song that sounds exactly like a slowed-down version of Meat Loaf's "Wasted Youth"?

13. Yes. Profoundly.
And to quote Laurence Harvey's character, Raymond Shaw, in "The Manchurian Candidate": *hears carols playing on radio* "Twelve days of Christmas...ONE day of Christmas is loathsome enough!"
