There's another storm the size of Frances off the coast of Africa.

Just what I needed to see. I live in central Florida and am in the path of Frances. I was looking at the maps on the Weather Channel and saw another storm at least the same size as Frances, maybe bigger. This is the first I heard anything about it. Damn, I hope it doesn't come this way.

It's curious to me that the humungous insurance companies have had absolutely no impact on Republican environmental policies.

It was about 7 or 8 years ago that scientific studies done for the big re-insurers verified previous scientific studies documenting the now occurring, human caused, rapidly expediting climate changes. Every year, re-insurers have climate changes studied again and, again conclude that 99.9999% of scientists are not wrong. It IS occurring and land fall hurricanes WILL become more frequent and more ferocious.

Republicans blithely go on as if nothing is happening and even ridicule real scientists, citing paid off quack scientists as experts, who stupidly refute the work of the real scientists.

Insurance companies have been able to hold the whole population over the barrel regarding health insurance and get all their own way, profiting immensely all the way. Why is it they have had no influence over policies that actually cause storms to increase in destructive capablilites?
