FSU-Miami Showdown and Florida Opener Postponed by Hurricane

MIAMI (Sports Network) - Add the marquee showdown between fifth-ranked Florida State and No. 6 Miami-Florida to the list of sporting events postponed by Hurricane Frances.

The game has been pushed back from Monday night to next Friday, September 10 at the Orange Bowl (news - web sites).

The expected impact of Frances has already forced the postponement of 11th-ranked Florida's season-opener with Middle Tennessee State, originally scheduled for Saturday. The two teams will now meet October 16 in Gainesville beginning at noon (et).
