Are the weather guys hoping for a flying branch to hit them in the head?

What is the point of standing outside showing us what 30 MPH winds look like? Wouldn't the station be happier if a big branch just flew over and hit one of these idiots in the head?
Can't someone stand off camera and throw a small tree at them or something?

1. I suspect it's a rite of passage - you don't get green screen

until you face down 'the eye' or some bullshit like that.

Personally I find it insulting that they'd think I'd be interested in watching some dumb asshole out there in the middle of it.
