Gooooooood morning over theeeeeere!
We're having an indian summer here at the moment, a very welcome opportunity to rack up another 80 kilometres per day on my nearly-new racing bicycle. Damn, I'm sporty! :)

'Morning over there!

8. Morning Rhiannon!
All is well - Aksel is in excellent form as always, now approaching five months of age. Last Saturday he managed to roll over from his back to stomach for the first time - won't be long until he's walking about I tell you. I'll put some pictures of my little darling on the 'net and give you the link :)

16. Thank you, my friend
I had been wondering about him and will be looking forward to this! I imagine that he is really adorable, just now! Just don't look so forward to the walking about part. Enjoy the baby moments. You may miss them. My partner, from work, went through hell with his daughter when she suddenly began, not just walking, but running, and did all kinds of unpredictable things, like dropping the telephone into the bathtub, while his other daughter was taking a bath!:scared:

7. I lived in Skien
I also traveled to Oslo, Bergen, around Telemark, visited and performed in the "Cirkus Sibylla" Atrå Rjukan. I play classical guitar and Brazilian percussion... I've traveled all over Europe as a bohemian musician, did research on ancient manuscripts in Spain, went to school in Austria... never been to Portugal, but I'm fluent in Portuguese (lived in Brasil), so I really want to go there and test my skills... I'm too tired to say much more.

I don't really speak Norwegian because I didn't really try, but since I'm fluent in a couple other languages I was able to pick up some things. All I can say now is that I love Norway and I think you are a beautiful people inside and out... I miss fresh Mackerel, mmm! And I've had the best ale in the world (won a championship) in a small tavern called the Lundentangen(sp?) in Skien. I met the King there too for the millennium celebration of the town back in 2000.

I used to live across the street from the Ibsen Theatre... great writer! I miss Vegaland Park too!... dude, I want to talk more and ask you about you, but I'm dead tired.

Ha det bra for now. :hi: :boring:

9. No problemo - ask away at your own leisure :)
Sounds like you've had quite a life, man! I'd love to learn Portuguese; actually, as I already speak Italian fluently, that might be next. But I think Spanish is first in line.

As for the ale you mentioned, would it have been Frydenlund by any chance? In my estimation (and that's after living three years in the UK and travelling Europe, sampling some of the finer beers there are), Frydenlund remains one of the very best beers a man can drink.

I live in Oslo myself - come see me sometime!

I miss Oslo. I may take you up on it in a few years... after school. I'm looking for a friend that works with leather and has a shop in Oslo. If you have time, I'd like to find him again because he was such a nice guy - I lost my address book in Schipol airport after "going downtown." :smoke: I wonder why?

So you speak Italian. That's cool. I understand it fairly well because of the Portuguese and Spanish, but also because in music notation we use Italian. I can't say I speak it but I recently watched "Il Postino" without subtitles and I understood almost all of it. Portugües Brasileiro is my favorite of the romance languages, but Catalan is kinda cool too. When I lived in La Seu de Urgell, Cataluña I pick up a little, but I don't remember much. My brother may move to Barcelona, and I have friends there so I might get a chance to go back and try again.

As for the ale, it is brewed in the basement of the Lundentangen bar in Skien... at least that's what they told me. That was the first time I had an ale that was room temperature and discovered that it is BETTER that way (also served in a brandy glass). I tried it cold in a bottle, but it isn't as good.

By the way, I checked out your blog (English version needs some updating huh?). Why the hell did they let that bank robber go on a pass without supervision? Did they catch him? I was in Norway when those two little girls were stabbed to death in Kristiansand. The whole country mourned (as did I), but it amazed me because here in America, this happens every day and rarely do Americans give a shit... minus the wonderful people here at DU. I think our little cyber community is very conscientious and empathetic. :-)

God natt

15. The blog...
...actually, it bothers me that I never seem able to get around to updating the bleedin' blog and of course you're right, the English version of it is so outdated as to be scandalous.

The Baneheia stabbings brought out not only grief, but furious anger as well. It was one of the very few times in my life that I found myself supporting the introduction of the death penalty. If I ever get my hands on those two bastards I'll kill them myself.

Gotta do some work now - laters! :)

22. Good morning! And what a morning!
Last night I played the mother of all insane football games. Allow me to explain:

For those of you not familiar with football, there are typically scored somewhere between 1 and 6 goals a match, a match with 6 goals or more is considered a very high-score match.

Well, last night my team, in division 8, played and lost a match with the score 7 to 6. 7-6! 13 bloody goals, can you believe it?! The worst of it is that the defences weren't really that bad at all, and there were ample opportunity for another five!

Incredible! And I ran until cramp caught up with me, so I'm pretty stiff today. But nevermind - losing has never been this much fun!

Good morning world!

Really, really hard, probably due to hurricane Ivan, though it mainly hit at the Southern part of the country, and I am in the North. But it was very large. And there is flooding here, too, though, mainly, to the South of here, since I live in the mountains. I cannot help thinking that these horrible weather patterns are, at least, partly due to our neglect and abuse of the environment. Sorry about your match. Slàinte back to you. Next time, I will salute you in Polish, my mother's first language.:hi:

44. It's my mother who is Polish. My Dad was Irish.
My grandparents were the ones who came to America, from Poland, though it was considered part of Russia, back then. I know very well where they were both from, since they were both very young and didn't meet until long after they both came here, but I would have to look up the spellings. Unfortunately, I am not fluent. I think my mother is partly ashamed, which I cannot understand, but my Dad, though a very tolerant man who traveled the world, was not tolerant of my mother speaking Polish, so we didn't learn it, which is a shame. When my grandmother was living, I could understand her. However, now I just mainly know words. I am good at polite things, know many words for different foods, but am probably best at curses, since I have ridden in a car with my mother.

Enjoy your beer and stay above the flood line! Despite the rain, I am safe on high ground, but just South of here, they are in trouble. I should check with my friend in animal rescue and my cousin, who live downstate, to make sure that they still are high and dry. As for the state of Florida, if I were more religious, I would think that God was very, very angry at them.:grr:

Oh, and I'm picking up a cold, as well. Wonderful! :)

Well then, the wee lad has picked up the first cold of his life. His nose is all blocked, which, since babies mostly breathe through their noses, means that last night Aksel barely slept, and neither did we.

I'm having a day off from work to help out around the house today and I'm completely fucked. Bah, I hope I can get at least a couple of hours' nap time before going to see mr. President tonight...

Good morning...

55. Please get some rest, trigz,
You need it to function. I am so sorry about little Aksel's cold. That must be very worrying for you. He is such a cutie and surely doesn't deserve this. You are a great Dad to stay home to help care for him. Take care of both of you and get and stay well.:-)

56. Well, the Big Day is upon us
The semi final in the Norwegian cup is this evening. My Lillestrøm are within reach of their first trophy since 1989. Needless to say tonight is a seriously massive match for the club. We're up against Lyn at Ullevål stadium, expecting around 16,000 spectators, and if we lose this one, I might well be past 40 before the next opportunity to win some silverware comes along.

On other fronts; yesterday, I shook hands with the Italian President Carlo Ciampi. Which was splendid. Also, I have now been in the same room as the King and Queen of Norway. Which was rather more dull, if you ask me :)

Good morning, I suppose it would be over there now. Here, it's afternoon.

Pray for Lillestrøm tonight! FORZA!!

57. Speechless
God damn it, we fucking lost. 0-1 to a bunch of destructive, brutal motherfuckers. May the cocks*ckers burn in eternal damnation.

Well, that's that month spoiled...

60. I am totally impressed by this post!
You are meeting presidents and hobnobbing with royalty?! I am so sorry that you lost, but this is one for the memory books!:bounce:

58. What an evil day
We lost that semi final last night, for those that may care. To a team of cheating bastards.

This is a link showing a situation where the ugly bastards broke one of our players' nose. Our coach exploded after that and was sent to the stands by the figlio di puttana referee.
http://www.dagbladet.no/sport/2004/09/24/409236.html

We're going back there for a league match in some weeks' time and will break their fucking legs then. Crowd trouble can't be avoided either, I'm afraid. As if their 200 pathetic fans can do anything at all if our 5,000 man strong supporter contingent decide to shut their gobs.

The next five months are ruined. I hate this.

Have a nice day, if you can...

59. Saturday and a new kind of situation...
...I'm at home alone with the little'un this weekend. And I'm starting to realise that taking care of a baby really is a full-time job. This morning, Aksel started the day by puking on himself, me and the sofa...

...at least I'm getting a more natural way of dealing with bodily liquids this way. Yuk. But my lad still remains a gorgeous little darling :)

Have a good one.

61. Sorry that you're having to deal with this
Why are you on your own with him? I am sure that he's still a little darling, but this cannot be fun. For the record, my mother told me that when I was a baby, I was into projectile vomiting, and look how I turned out. Just a reassuring thought. Hang in there.:-)

64. Oh, it went just fine
Started off by him puking all over, but improved afterwards. Things went quite splendid, and on Sunday evening my mom babysat him so I could go see the football, as well.

66. Poor little guy
and poor you!:puke:

It sounds as if you're really enjoying him and that you're a great Dad. And you're lucky to have your Mom, so you can still keep up with your football, LOL!:D

65. Good morning!

My famous football team, Vredens Druer, won our last league match of the season last night, thus finishing a respectable sixth in the league. Not at least, I played a good match as left fullback. Which makes this day a rather nice one!

Hope yours is as well! Good morning! Below is a team photo of our heroic XI taken last night (that's me second from the right in the back row)

67. 'morning
Chilly outside, chilly inside today. The weather is cold and last night I had a fantastically spicy dinner. My wife is brilliant!

Good morning!
