3. No problem
It's easy...go to http://www.photobucket.com and sign up for a picture album (it's free). You can upload pics to your album and it automatically gives you the URL to link to the picture.

9. I started a photobucket account, which was recommended here...
It's amazingly simple to use. If I can figure it out, anyone can! :)

7. No because your computer doesn't "serve out" the pic....
It has to a pic published somewhere linkable on the web.

A cut and paste would do nothing since DU doesn't host the picture, it merely presents the picture as the code tells it it's location.

In the case of something on your local directory, it would be something like c:/My Documents/pic.jpg and the internet has no way to know what that means.

8. Daddybear...
When you find a photo that you like, right-click on the photo, select "properties", right-click on the url inside the "properties" box & click "copy". When you're ready to post it, click "paste".

I tried it, but all I get is a one word filename... and that won't get it... lemme work on it hahah... and thanks for trying to help a newbie on the boards.

12. ya got me!
been having problems - slow connection, low memory, loaded hard drive etc - get way too many of those little red X's - I started to change page and the little box dropped - freaked me out!

that's very cute, except I'm clearly too impatient. I thought it was just another image that didn't come up for me, and all I was seeing was a red x.
