college football weekend has arrived again
yet I can find few games to get excited about.

My hawkeyes are playing Buffalo (woohoo) so no excitement there

Miami and FSU clash but I hate those two schools (sorry floridians)

Oklahoma takes on Alabama but I doubt it will be as close as last year

Notre Dame and Washington St. could be interesting, don't know much about those (what is WSU, some kind of wildcat?) staters this year

wht am I missing, anything good?

oh yeah, Ohio St will clean somebody's clock tomorrow afternoon

1. OSU the real deal
I just saw them play UW on SAT. and they are good. Wazzu is a chump school but they have a shot against ND. It will be interesting to see if Tyrone can continue his hot streak with no offense.

Edited on Fri Sep-05-03 01:33 PM by Neo Progressive
NC State will beat the living shit out of those bitches at Wake Forest tommorrow, with Rivers throwing with an almost 90% completion percentage again! Phillip Rivers for Heisman!

In responce to post #2? Isn't "Roll Tide Roll" what the strippers in former coach Mike Price's room yelled when they were engaged in actions detrimental to the university? :7

Wake will give them a game. But I think your QB should be Heisman winner this year.

5. Texas A&M v. Utah
Sorry Utes - it's not basketball season, and you can't suit Majerus up at tackle.

Although A&M offense sucked last week, they'll score enough to win at home. :-)

19. No doubt.
But this is a YOUNG Utah team, also a new head coach. I'm not expecting my Utes to pull it out tomorrow. But I hope they at least SHOW up!

6. It's Florida and Miami
Not FSU and Miami

Sooners and Bama probably the most anticipated this weekend - I don't think it will match last year and look for OK to have a relatively easy time in T Town.

Miami should handle the Gators and be pulling away at the end.

And being a big SEC fan I don't much like calling them that way!

10. good matchup - questionable teams
The Boston College at Penn State game may be an entertaining match-up. Not because the teams are great, but because it should be a real dog-fight. PSU played awfully in their first game, but managed a win; BC on the other hand led at the half then folded... to Wake Forest. Not as embarrasing as Connecticut's triumph over Indiana (shame on the Hoosiers), but pretty bad. PSU has better talent, but seems discombobulated. If BC shows up and PSU doesnt, the Eagles can get the W. Will be fun to see which team shows up and who improves more from week 1 to week 2.

11. My Bison are taking on the Montana Grizzlies.
Should be a freakin' fun matchup.

I can't travel with the team this weekend, so I'm gonna stay home and watch them on the tube.

Bison 34
Grizzlies 20

13. Go Sooners...!!!!!!!!!
Our quarterback is still somewhat unproven and our running game doesn't seem to be as good as last year. That being said, our defense is as good or better. Should be a great game.

OU.....23
Bama...13

14. 'Bama game
No, it won't be as close.

Brodie Croyle will come out and confound the vaunted Oklahoma defense. Watch for major yardage from Shaud Williams.

Oklahoma will score a touchdown, but miss the extra point.

Final Score: Bama 27 - Sooners 6

15. OU will blowout Bama
Edited on Sat Sep-06-03 12:37 AM by Section_43
Our offense is much better than people realize.

Brandon Everage is back on defense Sat. which puts Donte Nicholson back to his intended position SS.

It could be a close game, but I have a feeling...blowout.

I can say this. If Bama had a player arrested the day before game, he wouldn't play.

18. I love College football and have no steak on the grill
in the Oklahoma - Alabama game. But, I honestly don't see how anybody is going to move the ball on OU this year. The offense I saw on Fox last weekend looked pretty damn good too. While I'd like to see USC break through, I don't see anybody beating the Sooners this year.

Oklahoma 31
Alabama 3

some picks for Alabama this week from some sportwriters. Said Bama's offensive line is remarkable.

Edited on Sat Sep-06-03 06:58 AM by Zech Marquis
Miami had the nice warmup last weekend, Florida too, but they have to decide on who will be the qb--I never thought I'd see leaks a black guy actually play quarterback (!) for Florida (not with Jethro still screwing up the ballots and all..)
