Does your town put fluoride in the water supply?
My hometown is now considering doing this. I remember it being a controversial topic in the seventies.

Are municipalities still fluoridating water?

What about fluoride in the water is benefitial? Detrimental?

Thanks.

3. Yep! Minneapolis.
No detrimental effects, I've lived here all my life. But hey, I have GREAT teeth.

4. I think mine does
It is beneficial to the teeth. There is an increase in tooth decay among who drink more bottled water. I don't know what effect fluoride has inside your body though.

5. San Antonio doesn't.
I think they are the largest city in the US that does not. They brought it up for a vote several years ago, but the conspiracy theorists and anti-progress people shot it down.

Our little municipality had flouridated water, and my teeth and gums were fine. When I moved into SA proper, my gums deteriorated some.

Now that I'm in Austin, things have improved. :-)

8. I'm not sure, but the town I grew up in did-Grand Rapids, MI
It was the first city to do so. I only had 2 cavaties prior to having braces. My teeth are not good to judge by, I inherited my british ancestors' teeth. Although, my grandma had dentures by my age, so I would say that the floride and orthodontia, coupled with root canal surgery, have preserved my teeth pretty well.

My siblings inherited straight teeth from my dad's side of the family, which are probably better examples. My sister has had 1 or 2 cavaties in her entire life (she's 37), my brother has had about 3.
