TV Characters That Make You Want to Throw Things
That TV show you like...it's a great show, you might even TiVo it every week, but there's that one character you find yourself screaming "Shut! UP!" at all the time.

My vote for recent #1 pain in the ass is Lana Lang on Smallville, aka Pwetty Faiwy Prwintheth, aka Pinky McPinkerston, aka Mary Sue Whiner. Did you know her parents died in the meteor shower? If not, she'll tell you. Over and over. And whine that they abandoned her. No one ever calls her on her bullshit, because she is pretty and pure and perfect and Everyone just loves her. Every bad guy (and girl!) stalks her, sometimes repeatedly, but they can never manage to kill her. :argh:

As far as older/classic shows I would have to say little Ravyn Simone's character on the Cosby Show. Look, I know Rudi Huxtable. You, girlfriend, are no Rudi Huxtable.

Who gets on your nerves on TV? Besides O'Really. :P

And fail miserably? :P

2. Phyllis Lindstrom, Mary Richards' landlord. Classic irritant.

BTW, Cloris Leachman played the character brilliantly on the Mary Tyler Moore Show. I just hated the character she portrayed.

5. Oh lord I'm with you on Scrappy Dawn
She wasn't as annoying in the last season, but that's probably because the Junior Miss Slayer contestants she was surrounded by were 50 times more annoying.

It doesn't help matters that Michelle Trachenberg has the world's most irritating scream. She squeals like a stuck pig.

4. All of the people in commercials who demonstrate the lengths
someone will go to in order to obtain (usually eat) the product being advertised.

"What would you do for a Klondike bar?" was fine. It poked fun at the genre, and it was just people quacking for ice cream.

No, I'm talking to the people who steal the Chicken Selects, the woman who wrestles the Moolatte away from the taste-tester, people who bang on walls and scale buildings in order to get to the refreshments in the 13th-floor conference room. Because it's not like chicken fingers and coffee drinks and pizza are hard to come by.

I hate that ad genre.

7. I hate those damn commercials
But you know which ones get on my nerves even worse? The commercials for those cheap kitchen gadgets. The worst part is how they overexaggerate how difficult something simple is. "Do you have problems doing THIS?" And then they show a black and white clip of some assclown trying to flip a pancake but like hitting themselves in the head with the pan, or someone trying to drain pasta and pouring scalding water all over themselves. And of course their cheap ass product is just the solution to the problem.

Seriously if you can't flip a pancake without braining yourself, maybe you shouldn't be in the kitchen.

17. Ah! Yes! The products that solve problems that don't exist!
I mean -- why use something you already own that serves the same function when you can spend $19.99?

6. Everyone from the show "Full House..."
Ray Romano
Patricia Heaton
Sarah Michelle Gellar (I loved the tv show "Buffy", I just couldn't stand SMG)
Ben Savage when he was on "Boy Meets World"
Mel Gibson (just because)
Robert Novak (I guess that's implied here)
Fran Drescher (sp???)
Spongebob Squarepants
Everyone from the show "Friends"
Al Franken (I love the guy, but I hate his voice)

As you can tell, I get annoyed easily...

8. I hate Spongebob.
I have tried watching that show. Over and over again. It's annoying, the "art" looks like shit, and it's not funny.

The fact that everyone just looooves it and thinks it's the most Clever Thing Ever is five times as annoying as the actual show. And that's saying a lot.

9. Actually, my 7 year old grandson doesn't like Spongebob
I was surprised because he usually likes anything, so that goes to show how bad the show is. I saw it once and I don't get what the big deal is, either.

10. Smart kid
:) I think my biggest problem is that I'm just a bitter Invader Zim fan who's mad Nick cancelled it, but there seems to be no end in sight for Spongebob.

13. Bob Sagat and Tom Bergeron
But they aren't characters so not sure if they count.

There have got to be funnier, more talented people in this country than these two lame fools. Bergeron used to do morning radio. Sagat even bugs me just to look at him. Not sure why.

14. Hehe
What I want to know is how those two guys keep getting hired. Who do they know?!

Speaking of which, one of my least favorite characters on TV is FINALLY being written off...Serena Southerlyn aka Lawyer Barbie on original recipe Law & Order. Elizabeth Rohmbot sucks the life out of any scene she's in, she did it on Angel and she did it on L&O. Then again I have heard some casting couch rumors about her so maybe that explains how she manages to keep herself employed.

Like, your honor, that's SO hearsay!

23. The funny thing about Wesley
Every guy I know that's into Trek hates Wesley. But all the women love him. :P

I was a pre-pubescent girl and thought he was cute. Cuter when he kept his mouth shut, but cute nonetheless. :)

25. He's so cool
I read his blog all the time. He had one of my favorite anti-Bush quotes: Bush has a lot of nerve talking about activist judges, considering he owes his presidency to five of them. :D

27. Lucy Ricardo...even as a child, I had no patience with her...
Give me a break! She knows that if she turns her back, the pies will fall off the conveyer belt!

Frasier and Niles Crane: Guys, quit leading those women on!

Cosmo Kramer: Just another annoying wacky neighbor (However, Seinfeld is still the best sitcom ever)

Barnaby Jones: I always wanted him to fall down and break his hip

Goober Pyle: I imagine even Gomer thought that he was a fucking idiot (Andy was a bit of a prick also)

28. Maybe it's just that I'm young
But Lucy bothers me. Granted I have only ever seen this show on TV Land but, really, she's like an abused wife. I don't get what's funny about her except some of the slapstick situations.
