Can someone explain the relationship between Peppermint Patty and Marcie?
I was always confused by it. They are both female, but Marcie seems to be Peppermint Patty's bitch and calls her "sir."

Eh???

I can't tell you how much that confused me as a child. But in a way, I think it was good. Schroeder was already blurring gender roles for me and that was good.

1. Um, do you need an explanation?
Did you see the Family Guy episode where Peter goes around to all his old girlfriends, and he visits Patty? Full picture there...

4. Ok but
I thought they both had secret crushes on Charlie Brown!

Would that make them bi?

5. Maybe they're bi, but perhaps Charlie was just their beard?
Is that what lesbians call their male escorts?

7. I think she calls her "Sir" because she can't see.
She wears those real thick glasses, and you can't even see her eyeballs.

You think there was something going on there, huh? Never thought of it..........

8. Patti is straight, Marcie is gay
Patti has a crush on Charlie Brown, Marice is lesbian with a crush on Patti.

Later in life Patti became the first woman to win 20 games in Major League baseball. She turned down a huge offer from the Yankees to remain pitching for the Twins. She also leads the Al in hit batsmen AND in strikeouts. Marcie opened up a bookstore in Dupont Circle called "The Wymn's Place" and is active in gay rights issues in the DC area. She was recently arrested for throwing a balloon filled with pink paint at the White House.

Charlie Brown recently separated from Lucy after 5 years of marriage (no kids). He is a manager at a Border's Bookstore and sells baseball cards at shows on weekends. He never told Lucy but Peppermint Patti is still his favorite pitcher. He participates on the DU under the name "GoodGrief." Lucy is a regular poster on Freekrepublic and has a radio talk show on local AM radio where she crabs at liberals.

Linus is teaching Theology at Calvin College and is happily married to his high school sweetheart (the little girl who keeps telling him he's to old for her). They have 4 kids which are being homeschooled. Schroeder became a rock piano player and opens for Ozzie Osborne now. He still ignores groupies though. His latest CD "Beethovan's Satanic 5th" hit number 11 on the Billboard Metal Charts and has been burned by over 100 Baptist Churches in the US to date.

Pig Pen has a successful infomerical empire selling cleaning products. Sally, alas, died from complications from an eating disorder in college. Rerun recently came in 3d in the Tour de France and won 3 gold medals in bicycling in the Summer Olmpics before he went pro. Snoopy is fondly remembered by all and is still chasing after the Red Baron in Heaven, helped by his buddy Woodstock.

9. They're lesbians, I think it's as simple as that.
And that is far preferable to Charlie Brown and Lucy becoming an item, good grief... :D
