Where mommy's tee-tee?
Jack asked this question as his mommy got out of the shower this morning.
As many of your know, Jack is my grandson. He's almost 2 1/2 now.
He is finally beginning, periodically, to shed that chrysalis that has enshrouded the nether regions of his body since birth.
He is learning to use the potty.

He is fascinated, both with the process of elimination itself, and with the fact that he now has access to a part of him that for all of his short life has been swaddled beneath his Pampers. He thinks his Spiderman briefs are way cool.
And he has noticed that there are DIFFERENCES between mommy and daddy.

"Where mommy's tee-tee?"
My daughter thought it unwise to get into a gynecological explanation at this point, given
1. Jack's tender age, and
2. If she tries to explain that "mommy's tee-tee is INSIDE", Jack will want to see. He's very curious about things. She elects to keep it simple for now.
"Mommys don't have tee-tees, Jack."
"Daddy has tee-tee."
"Yes, daddy has a tee-tee, just like Jack. Boys have tee-tees. Girls don't."
"Mommy lose tee-tee?"
Oh lord, his little brow is furrowed and he's worried now.
"No Jack, mommy didn't lose her tee-tee and Jack won't ever lose his tee-tee either."
Jack appears to be relieved that these things don't just come and go. He runs off to chase the cat, something neither he nor the cat seem to tire of.
2 1/2 year olds are a lot of fun and they keep mommy on her toes too.
Yes they do.
;-)

2. She's a marvel.
I'd like to say it's all me, but I think her mom had a little bit to do with it too.

3. I Adore Reading The Stories About Your Family... Only...
somehow I don't think that Bil Keane (from the Family Circus) will be doing a cartoon panel based on THAT particular story.

4. They took him to his first movie.
Shrek 2.
Figured he was old enough to watch and not go either ballistic or to sleep. They were right.
At the end he looked up and said "Again?"
All the movies he's seen before were at home on DVD, where he likes to see them over and over.

5. *lol* Cute! Reminds me of when my nephew was small; he and his mom
had just gotten out of the bath. Nephew notices Mom's pubic region and, eyes wides, declares: "Poodle!"
Then looking between his own chubby little legs, his face fell, then brightened.
"No poodle...but I got a tail!!"

6. And when my nephew was little...
... he was taking a shower with his mom. He looked down between her legs and said, "Mom, when are you going to grow a penis out of that black thing?"

He now showers by himself.

8. So was my mom.
Since I was 4, 59 years ago.
I sure put that sweet lady through some hoops from time to time.
