What is your Land Speed Record?
I saw the thread about the guy on the bike going 200 mph plus. The fastest I ever went was probably 125-130 mph and I was a passenger. My fasted driving was probablt 115 mph in a 76 Impala (I loved that beast).

So what is your personal LSR?

Went 105 mph on highway around Raleigh

3. Depends on what you are looking at
on a runway, I've been in a plane going well over 300...

but in a car, I've probably never exceeded 100. I had a civic that could go 95 downhill with a good tail wind, though!

33. On a runway, you've always been below 250 knots.
Planes aren't allowed to exceed 250 knots below 10,000 feet.

5. Foot speed? Timed with an hourglass
However many years ago I had a hot rod type car and me and another guy raced at speeds about 110-115 mph. Scary stuff as I look back. And stupid stuff too for amateurs like me.

In a '69 Olds Cutlas.

I went about 100 mph in an old Mazda pick up truck that I used to own on my way home one night. I don't know why or what got into me. The next day went I went out and started up the truck it was running real rough. I looked under the hood and found the distributor was cracked.

16. 120+ in a 66 Chevy Impala...
This was The Date From Hell during my high school years. I won't give you all of the details, but it ended in a high speed chase. We were being chased by a thug who wanted to bash in my skull. (We know this because he tried, with a hammer, before we made it to the car.)

With its atrocious drag coefficient, a Rabbit's terminal velocity IS probably somewhere close to 135mph...
